ABOUT APEX EDIT LABS

A boutique post-production studio built on craft, not headcount — founded to give every project the same level of care a big studio promises but rarely delivers.

CRAFT OVER CHASING A SEAT ATSOMEONE ELSE'S TABLE

Apex Edit Labs is built on a simple idea: post-production deserves the same care and creative attention as the shoot itself. Rather than treat editing, colour, sound and design as separate, outsourced afterthoughts, this studio brings all four together under one consistent creative vision — shaped by years of hands-on production and broadcast experience.

What We Bring to Every Project

A full post-production skillset

Editing, colour grading, sound design and graphic design, developed through years of hands-on production and broadcast experience.

A story-first approach

Technical polish always in service of pacing, emotion and narrative.

Direct collaboration

You work with the person actually doing the work, not an account manager relaying messages.

A genuine love of the craft

This studio exists because post-production is where I do my best work, and that shows in the final product.

WHAT DRIVES US

Craft Over Volume

Apex Edit Labs isn't a large facility juggling dozens of projects at once. It's a focused, founder-led studio — which means every project gets direct, hands-on attention from first cut to final master, not passed between departments or handed to whoever's free.

That's a deliberate choice. Smaller means sharper communication, tighter creative consistency, and a genuine investment in how your project turns out — not just that it gets delivered.

MEET THE PERSON BEHIND THE STUDIO

ANTHONY ALKER

FOUNDER

Hi, I'm the person behind Apex Edit Labs.

I studied TV and Radio Production at the University of Salford, and for years I thought my path into the media industry would run through the camera or the microphone. I spent time presenting shows for Chorley FM, Shock Radio, and Chorley Hospital Radio, and threw myself into every part of production I could get near — filming, presenting, planning, problem-solving on the fly.

But like a lot of people trying to break into this industry, I found the traditional route in — steady, on-camera work on major productions — genuinely difficult to crack. What I didn't expect was that the part of the process I kept being drawn back to wasn't in front of the camera at all. It was afterwards, in the edit suite, piecing footage together until it actually felt like something. And behind the screen, shaping the graphics and visual details that pull a project together.

That's where Apex Edit Labs came from. Rather than keep chasing a route into the industry that wasn't opening up, I built something around the work I'm genuinely best at — cinematic editing, colour grading, sound design and graphic design — and I get to do it on my own terms, for people who care about their projects as much as I do.

I've been doing bits of this, on and off, for a good while now. This is me finally doing it properly — bringing everything I've learned along the way into one focused studio, built to give every project the attention it deserves.

If that sounds like the kind of person you want working on your project, I'd love to hear from you.
